Gemstones are popping up all over the place these days, especially in skincare and beauty. Leave it to clean, all-natural beauty brand 100% Pure to use these naturally radiant stones in their beautiful new Gemmed Luminizers!
100% Pure Gemmed Luminizers
The latest creations from 100% Pure founder Susie Wang take advantage of both the healing benefits and natural light reflecting abilities of gemstones. Similar to their original Fruit Pigmented Luminizer, they start with a base of finely milled rice starch and antioxidant-rich fruit pigments, only the new Gemmed Luminizers are formulated with 6 crushed semi-precious gemstones that provide multidimensional, super-fine glimmer and glow (and possible metaphysical benefits):
- Mica – releases energy blocks and align chakras.
- Labradorite – relieves anxiety and hopelessness; inspires strength, perseverance, clarity and harmony.
- Moonstone – brings hope and balance while strengthening intuition and inner growth.
- Australian Opal – stone of inspiration, creativity and change.
- Pyrite – removes negativity and promotes open, honest communication. Said to balance hormones and stimulate thoughts into intelligent action.
- Sunstone – promotes energy, confidence and a cheerful disposition.
Like all of 100% Pure’s makeup and skincare products, the Gemmed Luminizers are 100% cruelty-free, 100% natural, and infused with skin-loving nutrients rather than chemicals, synthetic dyes or harmful toxins. Both luminizers are also vegan.

100% Pure Gemmed Luminizer Review
The 100% Pure Gemmed Luminizer formula is impressively pigmented and packed with lots of super fine, light-reflecting shimmer that quickly builds up to a radiant glow. The only downside for me is that the formula isn’t very flexible when it comes to intensity. It starts of super shimmery from the start and (due to its dry texture) is not an easy one to blend/sheer out. Because of this, I personally won’t wear this to the office/in a professional setting, however, for weekend or evening spring and summer looks, it adds some downright stunning and eye-catching radiance!
100% Pure Gemmed Luminizer in ‘Rose Gold’ swatch in natural light
I tried out the shade ‘Rose Gold’ and while it may look dark in the pan, on the skin, it translates to a gorgeous sort of light champagne-gold (rather than a rosy gold). I imagine this shade would work best for light all the way to deep skin tones with olive/yellow undertones. (Cooler skintones would probably be better matched with the ‘Moonstone’ shade). On my light-medium skin, it adds quite a bit of warmth which looks especially pretty over peachy, coral, and red blushes.
100% Pure Gemmed Luminizer in ‘Rose Gold’ swatched on cheeks, in natural light
Above I’m wearing Rose Gold applied in about 2-3 layers using my all-time favorite highlighter brush – the Luxie 516 Duo Fibre Powder Brush. Since the Gemmed Luminizer is so pigmented and slightly dry, I’ve found that a less dense and more flatly shaped duo fibre brush works best for both picking up the powder and creating the most natural-looking glow.
