It may not be possible to formulate an all-natural nail polish, but 100% Pure’s come pretty close. They’ve managed to create a line of 10-Free Nail Polishes that are free of the top ten toxic ingredients found in most nail polishes.

100% Pure’s Natural Nail Polishes are formulated without the five common carcinogens found in most polishes, including formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, and formaldehyde resin. They’ve also removed xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates, and animal ingredients. (Plus, they’re cruelty-free.) So while they aren’t completely ‘natural’ as their website implies, they do contain far less toxins than most nail polishes currently on the market.
Today I’m sharing the first (and most likely not the last) 100% Pure Natural Creamy Nail Polish to join my collection, in the shade Seafoam.
The formula is somewhat thicker than OPI’s polishes, and probably more comparable to Essie’s nail polishes, only slightly less pigmented (at least going off of Seafoam).
Like most very pale polish shades, Seafoam applies semi-opaque in the first coat with a bit of unevenness, and reaches nearly-opaque (like 90%) coverage by the second coat. For completely even, solid color, a third thin coat is definitely needed.
Seafoam is a very light minty-green. It’s so light that it can sometimes look white in certain lighting. I am loving the shade, especially now that beach season is just around the corner. I imagine this color will really pop with a summer tan!
Overall, the more chemicals we can avoid in our nails polishes, the better. And with 100% Pure’s gorgeous range of shades – from nudes, pinks, oranges, reds, wines, blues, greens, and glitters – it’s not hard make the switch, or at least swap out a few of our favorite shades for something a bit less harmful to our bodies (and animals too!).
