100% Pure Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipstick Review
I’m super impressed with these Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipsticks. Their pigmentation is rich and vibrant, and builds up to near-opaque coverage in just two swipes. The formula feels incredibly smooth, lightweight, and velvety soft on the lips. With cocoa butter and Shea butter as its primary ingredients, the Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipsticks also provide some hydration, though it is rather short lived (my lips start to feel dry at after around 3 hours of wear). The color, however, stays on my lips up and until I eat, at which point, it fades to about 30-40% coverage.
I tried two shades from their current shade range – Prickly Pear (a vibrant coral pink) and Tempest (a bright violet). Prickly Pear is a gorgeous, complexion-enhancing pink that adds the perfect pop of color to an everyday, natural makeup look.

Tempest, on the other hand, is probably the most ‘adventurous’ shade out of the 11, yet I still find to be surprisingly wearable and not too over-the-top. Here’s a look at that shade over the course of an evening –
Initial application of Tempest (2 swipes)
Four hours later, and after eating an oily pasta dinner. The color has faded pretty evenly, with about 30% of the color still remaining – not bad!
Again, it’s hard to believe that 100% Pure was able to achieve such rich, intense, and full-on color using only fruit pigments! In fact, after reading through the ingredient list, I can’t help but be tempted to toss out my lipstick collection and start over with these healthy and beautifully formulated lipsticks!
