For me, a natural makeup look just isn’t complete without a few subtle hints of glow. There’s something about a dewy, radiant finish that just makes the skin look 10x healthier and youthful. Hence why my obsession for highlighters keeps growing (and of course, own my collection!). My latest finds are these two gorgeous cream highlighters from the green beauty brand Au Naturale – in the shades ‘Celestial’ and ‘The OG’.
Au Naturale Cosmetics Organic Creme Highlighters
Au Naturale’s creme highlighters are designed to provide a natural looking illumination to the face and décolletage through their sheer, light–reflective formula. They come in three shades, including Celestial (white), Rose Gold, and The OG (golden-yellow). Each adds the softest sheen to the skin without the use of glitter or a super heavy dose of shimmer. Instead, super fine mica particles reflect light while a combination of rich oils hydrate and nourish the skin, further enhancing the glowy effect.
How to Apply
As with any highlighter, simply add a little bit anywhere light would naturally strike you (i.e. the tops of cheeks, brow bone, and down the nose).
Since these come in a stick form, it makes it especially easy to swipe on (you only need about 2-3 swipes for a noticeable glow), then blend it with your fingers to help them spread evenly.
Ingredients
Like all Au Naturale products, their highlighters are 100% natural, cruelty-free, vegan and made in the USA. You won’t find gluten, parabens, fillers, animal by-products, synthetic preservatives or toxins in any of their formulas.

Au Naturale Cosmetics Highlighter in ‘Celestial’
Au Naturale’s Celestial highlighter is a universal shade designed to suit all skin tones. It’s free of any undertones and the lightest of the three creams they offer, making it their most versatile highlighter when it comes to adding a shimmering glow to any complexion.

Au Naturale Cosmetics Highlighter in ‘The OG’
The OG Highlighter adds a warm, golden sheen to the skin. It is slightly deeper toned, which makes it particularly great for those with tan or deeper skin tones. However, I find it also works beautifully on even lighter skintones – I have light/medium olive toned skin and the color almost blends perfectly to match my skintone, and leaves behind a healthy, natural looking sheen.

Au Naturale Creme Highlighter Stick Review
Formula-wise, the Au Naturale Creme Highlighters aren’t quite as creamy as I would have liked. They are just a tad dry in texture, so they take a little extra time to blend out, even when using your fingers.
The drier formula however turns out to have its advantages. For one, the highlighters don’t feel sticky on the skin. Instead, they set to almost a powder-like finish that stays put and doesn’t slide around as the day goes on. (Their hydrating yet non-slippery texture make them especially great for those of us with oily or combination skin!)
I personally love both highlighter shades. The OG Highlighter (golden one) is perfect for when I want a subtle glow to complement warmer toned makeup looks. Although it looks a bit dark at first swipe, the golden tones easily blend into my light-medium skin, leaving behind a slightly bronzey warmth to the skin. I imagine it would look especially beautiful on deeper skin tones.
The Celestial highlighter is a real stunner. It adds a noticeable ethereal glow through a silvery-white sheen that looks great with cooler toned makeup looks. It is very pigmented, and while I applied quite a lot in my photo, it can be easily toned down to an almost sheer finish.
Overall, if you’re on the lookout for a new highlighter from the green beauty realm, these sticks from Au Naturale are worth checking out. I find their cream-to-powder formula works especially well for combo/oily skin – they provide a touch of hydration, but also last all day without slipping and sliding!
