As a makeup minimalist and natural makeup look lover, CLĒ Cosmetics is my perfect match. They embrace imperfection and create products that highlight our natural beauty, while also feeding our skin with natural, safe ingredients. CLĒ Cosmetics Melting Lip Powders
The brand’s ideals perfectly translate into their Melting Lip Powders. They feature an innovative formula that completely transforms when applied on the skin, starting as a powder and then melting into a long-wearing tint with a matte finish that’s both waterproof, smudge-proof. The formula applies effortlessly, looks natural, and requires minimal maintenance. It’s also versatile – you can wear it on the lips or apply it to the cheeks for a natural flush.

CLĒ Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder Review
This was my first time trying a lip powder, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Removing the wand from the tube and seeing some of the powder escape didn’t make me feel too optimistic at first. However, when I applied to the lips (the first way I tried it out), I was blown away. The powder instantly ‘melts’ into the skin, transforming into a soft, creamy consistency, that’s similar to a matte liquid lipstick, only much more fluid and lightweight. It only takes 1-2 swipes to achieve a rich, lightweight color on the lips that looks natural yet polished and sophisticated (anymore, and you start to lose the naturally ‘tinted’ look as the powder builds up).
Now, on dry lips, it can be a whole different story. Since these work similarly to matte liquid lipsticks, I’d suggest following these steps/tips:
- Always apply on smooth, exfoliated lips, otherwise the formula will cling to your dry areas and look patchy. (Add a very thin layer of lip balm beforehand if you need to.)
- Dry your lips before applying, especially the inner middle area.
- Go very light on the application – do 1-2 long, continuous swipes on the bottom and top. Try not to go over the same area more than twice to avoid a cake-y, uneven look.
I also recommend holding your breath when you apply it on your lips so you don’t inhale the powder – both through the nose and mouth. 😉
I tried out two shades – Milk Cocoa (aka Milk Chocolate) and Hot Cocoa. Both look very similar in their tubes and even swatched on the hand, however they vary greatly once on the lips. Hot Cocoa is a medium nude with rosy-brown tones, while Milk Cocoa is a light/medium nude with beige tones.

Overall, if you’re not a huge lipstick fan and prefer low-maintenance lip products that feel ‘barely there’, I think you’ll love these.
