I’m all about multi-tasking beauty products, and when they provide the benefit of natural-looking coverage and double as a skincare treatment, I’m sold! As was the case when I discovered the Colorescience’s brand new Total Eye treatment…
Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy
Colorescience’s Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy combines an under eye corrector, cream, and sunscreen into one quick step. Apply this in the morning, and the formula’s universally-flattering neutral peach tone instantly brightens and corrects imperfections, while the smooth texture primes the eye area for makeup. At the same time, the cooling metal applicator feels super refreshing and helps reduce puffiness.
Total Eye also works as preventative treatment by protecting against photoaging using chemical-free, 100% mineral broad spectrum SPF 35. And to top it off, the formula contains 5 powerful blends that make use of natural plant-based extracts and microalgae, plus peptides and vitamins to restore skin health and gradually reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Key Blends:
- Phytomoist – a combo of natural hyaluronic acid + betaine that’s 4x more hydrating than hyaluronic acid alone!
- Syn®-Eye – a blend of peptides + vitamins that help reduce under-eye bags, dark circles, lines & wrinkles, and puffiness
- Actineyes – uses sea water and marine microalgae to protect skin from impurities, and help support collagen health for increased firmness
- Aldavine™ 5X – maintains health of capillaries to minimize puffiness and dark circles
- Beautifeye™ – a combo of two plant extracts that help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet

How to Apply
Step 1: Start with clean, moisturized skin. Squeeze roughly a quarter of a pump to the applicator tip, and then dot around eyes (less is more, and you can always layer up later on).
Step 2: Using the cool metal tip, smooth the formula over the entire eye area.
Step 3: Blend everything out with your fingertips for a seamless finish.
Colorescience recommends applying the treatment twice a day – once in the morning and again before you go to bed – for maximum skincare benefits.
Also, if you find that you need more coverage during the daytime, you can always layer your regular concealer over it, if you find that you need more coverage.
Here are the above steps illustrated through photos:
Colorescience Total Eye Review
First off, the application process is a breeze (and somewhat of a treat too, thanks to the cooling metal tip!). The lightweight formula is super easy to work with, and blends out effortlessly using just your fingers. It sets within a few minutes to a natural-looking, slightly dewy finish that looks just like skin – only brighter, smoother, and more supple. And because it’s not tacky, oily, or slippery, it makes a great base layer under heavier concealers, foundations, and eyeshadows.
Coverage-wise, a half pump gives me light-medium coverage – enough to brighten and correct my eye area, and cover my (very moderate) dark circles by about 70-80%. If you struggle with very deep, dark under eye circles however, you’ll likely need to layer this up with a full coverage concealer.
The only downside for me is that the formula tends to cling to my dry flakes, so I always make it a point to gently exfoliate around my eyes beforehand.
Call me vain, but I most love the fact that I can use this before bed as an overnight treatment, and then wake up to a lightly concealed eye area. It’s like cheating the whole ‘no makeup before bed’ rule! While most mornings I’ll typically wash it off and re-apply a fresh coat for daytime wear, it is nice to know that perhaps on a lazy Sunday morning, I can simply add a little mascara and be ready to head out the door for a quick coffee run or brunch date! (And thankfully, the formula stays put all night with very minimal creasing, and doesn’t make a mess on my white pillowcases!)
