Today I’m unboxing my latest DailyLook Elite box for the month of December. If you’re new to DailyLook Elite, you can find out more about it here, otherwise, I’m going to jump right into the unboxing! Keep on scrolling to see a quick try on of all the clothing and accessories that my stylist picked out for me, along with what I decided to keep, and what I returned…
Jack by BB Dakota Striped Shoulder Panel Cropped Moto Jacket ($75) – From the photo on DailyLook’s website, I was thinking this jacket would be perfect – size, style, and color-wise. It hit the mark on everything but the latter – I just didn’t find the green to be very flattering on me personally. RETURNED
Maison Scotch Lace Relaxed Fit Bomber Jacket ($104) – The second jacket in my box was from Maison Scotch, a brand I’ve come across on ASOS. I do like the style of a majority of their pieces, and I also love the cool yet comfy style of a bomber jacket. This one, however, looked a little too bulky and busy on me. RETURNED
BB Dakota Off Shoulder Stripe Quarter Sleeve Knit Top ($69) – I love BB Dakota and off the shoulder tops, so this one caught my eye from the start. I love that it’s lightweight and super soft and comfy, and the shoulders stay in place without feeling too tight or constraining. The overall style is cute, feminine, and casual – the perfect mix. 🙂 KEPT
SS Front Twist Tee ($72) – Soft, comfy, casual tees are my go-to, especially black ones (my favorite color), but this one missed the mark. I wasn’t crazy about the big twist knot in the front – it made the shirt look baggy in the waist area and created a slightly awkward silhouette on me. RETURNED
Just Black Daria Knee Slit Cropped Skinny Jeans ($88) – Just Black is a brand I keep on getting in these boxes, and I have to say, almost every piece has been a hit, including these. I absolutely love this pair for their cropped length, slim yet comfy and stretchy fit, and little slits in the knees that give them some edge. KEPT
Just Black Mandy Distressed Denim Skirt ($89) – This skirt is also from Just Black, however, like most denim skirts I’ve tried out recently, this one was a miss. For one, the length was a bit too short, and I also wasn’t crazy about the distressed detail on the thigh. I would have loved this in high school, but I feel like it’s a bit much for someone almost hitting 30…just my opinion. Oh well…looks like my hunt for the perfect slim-fitting, slightly stretchy, almost-pencil-skirt-length denim skirt continues… RETURNED
SL Elaina Asym Knit Ponte Dress ($98) – I actually tried this same dress out in a different color/pattern (black & white striped) from another DailyLook Elite box, and while I preferred the solid burgundy color of this one, I had to send it back as well. I just couldn’t get over the gaping at the arm holes, and the loose-fitting waist and tight-fitting chest/hips. It would however look gorgeous on someone with a straighter body type. RETURNED
Gorjana Super Star Necklace ($60) – I’m a huge fan of Gorjana jewelry, so I was super excited to try out this necklace. It’s different, it’s cute, it’s celestial-looking, plus it looks great paired with a basic tee or v-neck, so it went straight into my jewelry box! 🙂 KEPT
Summary
Overall, pretty much everything my stylist picked out for me this month was spot-on – from the two edgy jackets to the (tastefully) distressed skirt and jeans, all the way to the cute celestial-inspired necklace (from one of my favorite brands too – Gorjana!). Again, I hit what seems to be the magic number with these boxes and kept three pieces – the striped off the shoulder top, the dark denim cropped jeans, and the gold star necklace – all of which I can see myself wearing pretty much all year round.
