The Detox Box February 2021 Unboxing (+ My New Eco-Luxe Lip Care Routine)

If you’re looking to explore and try out more clean and green beauty products this year, there are tons of great monthly subscription boxes to try out, including one of my personal favorites when it comes to value and quality – The Detox Box. Curated by the folks over at The Detox Market, The Detox Box focuses on one beauty brand per month, and selects roughly 1-3 of the brand’s very best products that meet The Detox Market’s strict ingredient standards, as well as their high expectations for performance.  The products selected can be easily integrated into any skincare routine, and range from masks and exfoliators, to serums and moisturizers.

The box costs $55 per month (and as low as $39.95 with a 6-month subscription), while the products inside value at over $90 (the last three boxes from November 2020 to January 2021 ranged in value from $116 to $142!).  The Detox Box is only ships within the US at this time, however they are opening it up to Canada this year (not sure exactly when).

The Detox Box for February 2021 featured four lip care products from Henné Organics, a brand I’ve personally been wanting to try for ages.  Created by Laura Xiao back in 2015, this Swedish-inspired line of natural & organic lip care products merges a minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic with nourishing Nordic botanicals.

This month, subscribers will receive four full size products that make up the ultimate eco-luxe lip care routine (get ready to say goodbye to dry lips!).  Here’s the full rundown…

Henné Organics’ Lip Mask

Full size, Value: $37

Made with nourishing ingredients like sea buckthorn and evening primrose, Hennés Lip Mask helps to restore and soothe lips.  It feels lightweight on the lips yet oh-so-soothing.  It can be applied whenever lips are feeling dry and cracked – just leave on for 15-30 minutes and then gently wipe off.  I personally like to use this as an overnight treatment to help reduce chapped lips come morning.

Henné Organics’ Lip Exfoliator in Rose Diamonds

Full size, Value: $24

A simple sugar scrub – applied a couple of times a week – can help boost circulation while sloughing off dead skin.  Henné Organics’ Lip Exfoliators do just that, while also lightly coating your lips with a layer of moisturizing oils, leaving lips soft, supple, and smooth.  The scrub is available in three scents – Rose Diamonds (which all subscribers will receive this month), Nordic Berries, and Lavender Mint.

Henné Organics’ Lip Serum

Moving onto products you’ll want to toss into your to-go bag, we have Henné’s Lip Serum. Packaged in a gorgeous glass bottle with a 24k gold -plated rollerball applicator, this serum is not only travel-friendly but also easy to apply on-the-go.  It features a blend of potent ingredients and “time-defying” oils packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids.  Together, they help nourish and smooth the lips, and may also help to promote natural collagen production.

This serum works as a great, deep-penetrating base to layer under your lip balm or lipstick.  Just apply 2-3 layers, wait a few minutes for it to absorb, and then apply your next layer.
