Whether you’re looking for something travel-friendly, or just want to be able to experiment with (and even mix together) different lip colors, that’s where a lip palette comes in handy. Today, we’re taking a look at a super affordable one from e.l.f Cosmetics, called their Runway Ready Lip Palette.
e.l.f. Runway Ready Lip Palette
E.l.f ‘s Runway Ready Lip Palette is a limited-edition palette that comes with 6 different lip shades, complete with a handy lip brush and mirror. The shades include lights and darks, and nudes, pinks, reds, and berries. Each one can be worn on its own or mixed them together to create a custom color. Formulated with Grape Seed Oil, Shea Butter, and Coconut Oil these lippies also work to nourish and moisturize the lips. To top it off, they have the same yummy vanilla scent that’s common to most, if not all, of e.l.f’s lipsticks.

e.l.f. Runway Ready Lip Palette Review
I absolutely love the shade range in this lip palette. They pretty much touch on all the classic, everyday wearable shades, including a nude, light pink, dark pink/fucsia, cherry red, dark red, and berry. The shades are also surprisingly pigmented, and only takes 2 layers until they reach semi-opaque coverage.
Formula-wise, all the shades in e.l.f.’s Runway Ready Lip Palette are incredibly creamy and moisturizing thanks to the added oils and butter. This slippery consistency however does have one drawback – it causes the formula to ‘attach’ themselves to things (napkins, mugs, food, etc), and so the lippies tend to wear pretty quickly. However, they do actually leave a light stain behind, creating a very pretty, tinted lip look.
Above I’m wearing the darkest shade from the palette, to give you an idea of the pigmentation, coverage, and finish you can expect when you first apply them.
Wrap-Up
Overall, I’m loving everything from the packaging, hydrating formula, amazing shade selection, and even it’s staining abilities. The only area this palette falls short is longevity. So if long-lasting, full-coverage color is what you’d looking for, I’d skip on this. However, if you want to experiment with different lip colors, or prefer a more natural, tinted lip look, then this $8 palette is worth grabbing before it’s gone!
The limited edition e.l.f. Runway Ready Lip Palette is available on ELF’s website for $8, as well as most local drugstores (CVS, Target, Rite Aid, etc).
