To kick off the first day of Spring, we’re going to be taking a look at some vibrant nail polish hues from essie’s Spring 2017 collection! Inspired by spur-of-the-moment road trips down the Baja, California coastline, this 6-piece creme polish collection captures everything from the sapphire ocean to the spectacular sunsets.

- Excuse Me, Sur – Sun-kissed Coral Mango
- Backseat Besties – Delicate Pink Plumeria
- B’aha Moment – Enlightening pink pomegranate
- Designated DJ – Plum Sangria Crème
- All The Wave – Sapphired Indigo
Overall I’m pretty impressed with these polishes. The four darker shades, On the Roadie (kelly green), All The Wave (indigo), B’aha Moment (medium pink), and Designated DJ (plum) are all amazing – they are super easy to work with, and apply smoothly, evenly, and streak-free. On the Roadie and Designated DJ both take 2 coats to reach opaque coverage, while with All The Wave and B’aha Moment, you can get away with one thick coat.
The two lightest shades – Excuse Me, Sur (coral) and Backseat Besties (pink-purple) – are my least favorite. They have thicker consistencies, don’t apply quite as smoothly as the darker shades, and often look patchy and streaky – even after the second coat. They each take a full 3 coats to reach 100% opacity, or two really thick coats.
