Fall is here, and with it brings fun and festive activities, cozy days in, and changing weather and scenery. Now that it’s in full swing, I thought I’d share some of the things I enjoy the most during this time of year!
Celtic music – My music tastes ranges from K-pop, electropop, indie rock, jazz, gaming soundtracks, and more. (I have Pandora to thank for introducing me to so many genres.) But when Fall rolls around, something about the colder, rainy weather, and changing landscape makes me crave Celtic music. Blackmore’s Night and Qntal are my favorites – the former is more of a celtic sound, while the latter is a crazy blend of electro-medieval-rock.
Espresso treats – As much as I love iced coffee, when the weather gets chillier, sometimes you just can’t pass up a hot and tasty pumpkin spice latte, macchiato, or cappuccino. Having a Keurig lets me enjoy these caffeinated treats when I’m too lazy to leave the house. Current favorite: Caramel Macchiato K-cups by Gevalia.
Re-reading classics – Around this time of year, I like to re-read one of the ol’ classics from Jane Austen or F. Scott Fitzgerald – my two favorite authors. This year I’m thinking about picking up Pride and Prejudice again (haven’t read that one in years!).
Relaxing baths – Baths are a great way to relax at the end of the day. Throw in a glass of wine, some candles, and some (Celtic) music and you’re all set! There’s something about having a slight chill in the air that makes hopping into a bath so much more enjoyable. That reminds me, it’s time to do a Lush haul again (definitely need to re-stock on my favorites – the Dragon’s Egg and Twilight bath bombs)! In the meantime, I’ll be using up my Philosophy bubble bath gels! 😉
Woodsy perfumes – Gone are the light airy fragrances of summer. Now we’re moving on to richer, warmer scents for fall and winter. Fall is a time when I personally love to wear forest-y notes like vetiver and oakmoss, along with warm and comforting notes like tonka bean and vanilla. My current favorites: Encre Noir Lalique, Burberry Brit, and MAISON MARGIELA ‘REPLICA’ Jazz Club.
Forest walks – As a nature lover, I enjoy getting outdoors to hike or bike whenever possible. Fall is one of those seasons that gets me outside the most. Between the slightly chillier air and changing landscapes, it’s not only more comfortable to exercise, but everything just looks more enchanting!
Pumpkin picking – Once Fall rolls around, it’s time to start decorating our indoor and outdoor spaces with cute lil’ pumpkins, squash arrangements, and of course, carved pumpkins for Halloween. Picking up pumpkins at the grocery store, while convenient, isn’t quite as fun as visiting a farm and grabbing a few off the vine. Not to mention, it’s a great excuse to get outside, especially when there’s a hay ride involved!
