Forever 21 Bralette Review & Try-On

forever 21 bralette review

After wearing the same two bralettes for the past year, I promised myself this past Christmas that I’d buy a few new ones.  While my usual go-to stores for bralettes are Urban Outfitters and Aerie, this time I decided to give Forever 21 a try.  They were having a BOGO 50% off sale (which as of today, is still going on), so after searching through their 100+ styles, I finally settled on four with the best reviews.  Here’s my review and rating of each, plus a little try-on to show you what they look like support and style-wise.  (Just for reference, I’m a 30DD and picked up all four bralettes in size Small.)

Forever 21 Bralette Review

Forever 21 Lacy Microfiber Bralette | $12.90

Forever 21’s Lacy Microfiber Bralette is the perfect minimal bralette – it provides just enough support and is very lightly lined. The cups are made up of a soft and stretchy microfiber material, which, while not the best coverage-wise, is super comfy and even allows for some flexibility size-wise.  The straps are racerback style, and though somewhat thick, are also surprisingly comfortable and can be adjusted to add a little extra lift.

Overall Rating:

  • Support – 3/5
  • Shape – 2/5
  • Comfort – 4/5
  • Material – 3/5

forever 21 Marled Knit Bralette

Forever 21 Marled Knit Bralette | $10.90

The Marled Knit Bralette is my favorite bra out of the four.  The cups are lightly padded, which equates to a slightly fuller shape plus more coverage, making it my go-to under tighter fitting tees and tanks.  The cups fit me almost perfectly, with even a little bit of extra room left. I would definitely recommend this one for those with larger cup sizes.

Overall Rating:

  • Support – 4/5
  • Shape – 4/5
  • Comfort – 4/5
  • Material – 3/5

Forever 21 Contrast-Hem Bralette (1 of 1)-2

forever 21 Contrast-Hem Bralette

Forever 21 Contrast-Hem Bralette | $10.90

Forever 21’s Contrast-Hem Bralette one is probably my least favorite in terms of support and shape. The band is slightly loose, and the cups tend to flatten out my chest – not the best formula for an everyday, wear-out-of-the-house bra.  However, due to it’s super soft, stretchy, and thick material, it’s definitely the most comfortable bralette out of the four, and I love it just for lounging around or sleeping in.

Overall Rating:

  • Support – 2/5
  • Shape – 1/5
  • Comfort – 5/5
  • Material – 5/5

forever 21 Seamless Knit Bralette

Forever 21 Seamless Knit Bralette | $7.90

I’m 50/50 on the Seamless Knit Bralette.  It’s definitely my favorite style and ‘lift’-wise.  I love the crop top look, the deep v, and that little bit of extra padding that creates some lift and shape.  However, size-wise, the cups are a little too small for me and cause me to spill out of the sides.  Other than that though, it’s perfect.   I absolutely recommend this one for those who want the comfort of a bralette without sacrificing shape and lift.  I’d say the best fit would be for those with slightly smaller cup sizes.

Overall Rating:

  • Support – 4/5
  • Shape – 5/5
  • Comfort – 4/5
  • Material – 3/5

Final Thoughts on Forever 21’s Bralettes

Overall, I was really impressed with my first Forever 21 bralette purchases. Material, support, comfortable and quality, they easily compare to some of my favorite bralettes from Urban Outfitters, Aerie, and Wacoal.  The three I ended up keeping (all but the last) have so far held up very well through weeks of wear and even washing, and best of all, they haven’t stretched out or lost their support.  If you’re looking for some budget-friendly bralettes, you really can’t beat these.
