Glamglow’s products have made quite the stir on the internet, and are even popping up here and there in subscription boxes like Ipsy and Glossybox. The Supermud Cleansing treatment was one of Glamglow’s very first products in their skincare line, right along with their Youthmud Tinglexfoliate treatment. While Tinglexfoliate focuses on exfoliating and improving skins texture, Supermud helps to clear and fight skin problems (as you’ll read more about below). Both are mud masks that essentially help to absorb impurities on the skin and in the pores. So let’s get to the benefits of using the Supermud mask, which I’ve recently been using in my routine, and is my favorite out of the two.
What is Glamglow Supermud?
Glamglow Supermud is clearing treatment created to ‘target, prevent, and heal problem skin’. According to the description on Sephora‘s website, the formula:
“was clinically developed by GLAMGLOW® dermatological chemists to help fight all common skin concerns including breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair. Powerful, skin-clearing mud visibly draws out dirt and congestion while a proprietary six-acid blend dramatically brightens and softens skin. It works to magnetically draw out dirt and pores with Activated-X Charcoal, leaving skin smooth and healthy-looking.”
There’s been some testing and trials done (by Glamglow I’m assuming) to back up these claims. Here are some of the results reported after just one day of use, based on consumer trials:
- 94% felt their skin looked renewed
- 91% saw an improvement in skin clarity
- 94% felt it gently cleared their skin
Ok, and now for the fun part…
How to Use Glamglow Supermud
The instructions say to apply a thin layer of the Glamglow Supermud treatment to clean skin, and then leave it on for anywhere from 5-20 minutes (I like to keep it on for the full 20 minutes to let it absorb as much of the oil in my pores as it can). Once you’re all done, and the ‘Pore-Matrix’ has revealed dots of ‘vacuum extractions’, you just remove the mask with water. Supermud can also be used as a spot treatment on specific problem areas, and it can be used as often as needed.
Now let’s watch the Pore-Matrix do some house cleaning…

Glamglow Supermud Review
As you can see from the photos, the ‘Pore-Matrix’ really starts to pull out all the oilies and impurities, roughly 20 minutes after applying Glamglow Supermud. For me, this was most noticeable around the tip of the nose, on my upper cheeks, and the forehead (which is probably my worse spot). In the photos, you can see how the mask becomes more transparent over time in the areas where the ‘extractions’ took place.
After rinsing off the mask, I was amazed at how soft and clear my skin looked (and felt). I’d have to agree with the results above – my skin did look much clearer and renewed.
For me, the best part of the Glamglow Supermud treatment is that it’s an extremely effective mask, yet it’s oh-so-gentle on the skin. The mask isn’t to drying either (which you certainly don’t want if you have oily or combination skin, as the oil will only come back just as quickly).
Overall, I think Glamglow Supermud is a fantastic mask to use once or twice a week if you have problem skin, or if you just want to do a deep clean on your pores every now and then. For those of you who have oily or combination skin, I would definitely recommend giving this a try!
