Every morning, after I’ve gone through my usual skincare routine, I’ll always feel a bit hesitant to apply my makeup, feeling as if I’m about to counteract all my efforts. Other than the all-natural products that I use from time to time, very rarely do I feel like my makeup is actually benefiting my skin. Glo Skin Beauty, however, is changing that all for me with their complete range of skincare-focused makeup…
Glo Skin Beauty (formally glominerals) is a somewhat of a unique brand in that they specialize in not just makeup, but skincare as well. They understand that every product we put on our skin impacts its overall health, and as a result, have designed a skin-nourishing, mineral makeup line that works as an extension of our skincare. They’ve packed everything from their foundations to their lipsticks with ‘a proprietary blend of Vitamins A, C, E and Green Tea Extract for nourishing antioxidant protection‘, and a majority also provide UV protection, making them excellent anti-agers.
At the same time, Glo Skin Beauty’s makeup formulation are high-performing, richly pigmented, and luxuriously textured. Instead of using talc, they use ultra-fine minerals in a triple-milled process to create coverage that looks even and silky-smooth, and that lasts. They offer a wide range of products too, in a variety of formulas, finishes, and shades to match every skin tone, type, and unique style. Their lipsticks are no exception…
“Delivering on the promise of healthy, beautiful skin is what drives us every day at Glo Skin Beauty. Our innovative skincare and nourishing mineral makeup collections work together seamlessly to reveal your authentic best.”

Glo Skin Beauty Lipstick Review
Glo Skin Beauty’s Lipsticks hit on everything I look for in a lippie. Touch the vanilla-scented bullet to the lips and its lightweight formula spreads like butter, smoothing lines and hydrating with castor seed oil. Even when my lips are feeling a tad dry, I can completely skip the usual lip balm pre-step, without having to worry about patchiness or flaking (even while wearing the lighter shades, like French Nude and Pillow Talk).
Despite the lipstick’s silky-smooth formula and satiny finish, it manages to adhere well to the lips and last for hours with very little transferring. As the day goes on, they’ll faded very gradually and evenly, with the darkest shades leaving behind a bit of stain that extends their wear even longer.
The lipsticks have equally impressive pigmentation, and yet that also allow for some flexibility in coverage. One quick, light swipe creates a very subtle lip look that enhances your natural lip color (the darker shades I’d recommend dabbing very lightly and smearing with your finger to tone them down). A second layer builds to rich, full coverage.
And staying true to their belief that makeup should be an extension of skincare, Glo Skin Beauty Lipsticks are enriched with Vitamins A, C, E and green tea extract which – when applied to the lips – help firm, plump, hydrate, and protect. Titanium dioxide also works to block harmful UV rays, keeping those lips looking even more healthy and youthful.
There are around 16 shades to choose from, including your classic nudes and corals, pinks and deep reds. Here are two of my favorite everyday sophisticated nudes, along with two more intense, eye-catching bold shades…
Glo Skin Beauty Lipstick in French Nude is warm pink-beige with just a slightest hint of mauve (which becomes more apparent in indoor lighting). Often times, nudes are either too pink or too light for my neutral-toned skin, but this one is perfect. It looks so natural (I suppose that’s why they call it ‘French’ Nude), and has that ‘my-lips-but-better’ appeal.
Glo Skin Beauty Lipstick in Pillow Talk is another nude-ish shade, but definitely a bit more mauvy than Fresh Nude. It’s perfect for those of us with cooler-toned skin, and has easily become another favorite shade of mine for everyday wear.
Glo Skin Beauty Lipstick in Date Night is a bright magenta-red shade, with a cooler undertone. It’s super bold and eye-catching. Going out for the evening but don’t have time to do a full-face of makeup? Slip this baby on, along with some mascara, concealer, and powder, and you are set. 😉
Glo Skin Beauty Lipstick in Bullseye is a bright, true blue-red that gives me total 1950’s retro vibes. I can’t help but feel a little more feminine, and a little more…playfully-sophisticated…whenever I put this on. 😉 It’s gorgeous and timeless.
