Goodbeing’s monthly subscription service is quickly becoming one of my favorites for discovering new, non-toxic beauty and lifestyle products. Through their standard subscription, they handpick 4-5 generously-sized products, all carefully selected to fit each subscriber’s profile. Everything inside is generously sized, with enough product to last for roughly a week and sometimes months! On top of that, you get to choose 1-2 items for your box from a selection of products each month.
There are two box variations available – ‘Beauty‘ (all beauty products) and ‘Lifestyle‘ (mix of beauty and lifestyle products). The standard subscription costs $24.95 per month (US), and $33.95 per month to Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. (They also offer a Mini box for $9.95 U.S./$15.95 international, which includes 2 items per month picked by their team.)
Now, without further ado, let’s take a look inside my latest Goodbeing ‘Lifestyle’ box for December…
Jivi Moisturizer with Sun Protection + Exfoliating Face Wash (Value: $12+) – Every ingredient inside Jivi’s products is natural and edible, vegan, and cruelty-free. They also make everything themselves in the US, and for every bottle you buy, they donate a meal to someone in your neighborhood through a food bank. In this box, I received their Cucumber Sage moisturizer (full-size), which is formulated with aloe, olive & jojoba oil, cucumber peel, and shea butter to hydrate and soothe, plus zinc oxide and micro algae help to block UV radiation. The face wash sample is formulated with pineapple and papaya enzymes to provide gentle exfoliation (which you can really feel!), plus Fuller’s earth and chickpea flour to draw out oils and impurities. So far I’m loving both of these – the formulas feel amazing on the skin, and also smell delicious. To me, they’re the literal definition of skin food!
Esthechoc Functional Beauty Chocolate (Value: $7.85) – Skincare supplements aren’t always the best tasting, but these anti-aging chocolates clearly are an exception! According to Esthechoc’s website, they work to increase microcirculation and cellular turnover, and improve overall skin function using cocoa polyphenols and astaxanthin (a plant-based algae recognized as ‘one of the world’s most powerful antioxidant elements‘). These two superfoods are then protected by a patented delivery system that ‘ensures the key nutrients remain highly bioavailable – up to 10 times more powerful than a similar piece of 70% dark chocolate‘. Esthechoc claims that by taking one piece a day, the chocolate can slow aging and boost circulation, oxygenation and detoxification, in as little as 21 days. There were only 3 pieces in the sample box, so it’s hard to judge the results (though I can tell you one thing – they are very tasty!). However, I am seriously tempted to pick up a full-size box to continue my testing!
Fred + Far Greeting Card + Trillion Pin (Value: $14) – Fred + Far offers an assortment of unique items that promote self-love, self-care, and self-discovery like this unique greeting card and their signature pink diamond pin (also in the shape of an inverted triangle to symbol the divine feminine). The pin is so cute and classy looking – it can be worn on jackets and bags, but lately I’ve just been keeping it on my desk to serve as a reminder to take a little me-time every now and then while I work. I’m seriously tempted to pick up this adorable set next… 🙂
Plaine Products Shampoo (Value: $5) – This shampoo is one of the products I had picked out for myself (I love trying out gentler and more natural shampoo formulations, especially since I have a very sensitive scalp). It’s vegan, cruelty-free, non-gmo, non-toxic, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin/scalps, and color-safe. Packed inside are natural and organic ingredients like aloe, Irish Moss, green tea, sunflower, coconut, safflower, and ricebran oils, and papaya and pineapple extracts, which nourish the hair and scalp. For a shampoo without sulfates, it lathers surprisingly well, yet also manages to keep my scalp balanced. I’m looking forward to seeing how my hair and scalp adjusts after a few more uses!
Elate Universal Creme Highlight (Value:$29) – Next up is what I most looked forward to trying out (this was the second product I chose for myself during the ‘pick your products’ window). It’s a clean, vegan, cruelty-free highlighter, formulated with loads of nourishing oils like primrose, sea buckthorn, organic jojoba, carrot, borage, and more. I chose the shade ‘Lucent‘ which adds a gorgeous silvery white sheen to the skin with the slightest hint of purple. It blends like a dream, and works on the lips too!
Swatch of Elate’s Universal Creme Lucent Highlight
This month, I received another great mix of beauty and lifestyle products – from skin care, hair care and makeup, to beauty supplements and little lifestyle accessories. After trying everything out, my box favorites include the Elate Universal Creme Highlight (it creates a gorgeous, ethereal glow – and there’s so much product in that tube) and the Jivi Exfoliating Face Wash (love its multi-tasking formula, with pineapple and papaya enzymes that you can really feel working). In fact, I plan to re-purchase the face wash as soon as I finish up the sample tube!
