The ILIA Beauty Lipsticks
IILA Beauty’s lipsticks are made with all-natural ingredients, a majority of which are also organic (72% according to their website.) Up on the very top of the ingredient list, you’ll find castor seed oil, sesame seed oil, sunflower seed oil, and beeswax, which help to nourish the lips and provide a smoother, more even application.
Shade-wise, the full ILIA Lipsticks range currently offers 15 to choose from, ranging from bright oranges, pinks and purples, to more muted nudes, roses, and berries, which all supposedly set to a semi-matte finish.

ILIA Lipstick Review
At first swipe, the lipstick can feel a bit dry. But be patient – once it comes in contact with the lips, it quickly warms up to a creamy emollient consistency. This is where all the nourishing oils and butters come into play. They help the lipstick glide on super smooth for even coverage, while also providing hydration (enough that you can skip the lip balm pre-step!).
The ILIA lipsticks offer buildable coverage. For ‘Funnel of Love’ at least (which is one of the lighter nude shades), one swipe gives me sheer coverage, and by three, it builds to full-on color. I personally prefer this type of coverage – it works well for the ‘non-lipstick’ wearers out there like myself who prefer barely-there, natural looks. At the same time, it also builds up easily if you’re looking for more intensity.
Though the lipstick is initially quite moisturizing with a balmy consistency, after about 10-20 minutes, it sets to an almost matte-like finish with a slight satiny sheen. It definitely feels like your average matte lipstick – it’s not particularly hydrating, though the formula does feel comfortable and lightweight on the lips. Also, because the formula isn’t super balmy or creamy after it sets, it adheres to the lips well without slipping and sliding. For me, it lasts a good 3-4 hours even with light drinking.
Here’s a lip swatch of the ILIA Beauty Lipstick in ‘Funnel of Love‘ – a gorgeous, soft peachy-nude – applied in two swipes.
