Julep’s new June 2017 releases include some gorgeous sunset-inspired nail polishes, along with a brand new ‘With a Twist’ mascara. Tempted as I was, I decided to go with some much needed essentials, including 2 waterproof eyeliners and a cream eyeshadow for summer. I also had some extra Jules (i.e. Julep’s reward points that you can redeem for free products), so I threw in a stunning holographic nail polish last minute. 🙂 Here’s everything I picked up in my June 2017 Julep Maven Beauty Box:
- When Pencil Met Gel in Blackest Black
- When Pencil Met Gel in Forest Green Shimmer
- Eyeshadow 101 in Slate Shimmer
- Ebony nail polish

I typically use pencils to create winged looks, so it’s super important to me that the formula applies cleanly and stays put. Julep’s When Pencil Met Gel eyeliners fit the bill perfectly. They’re waterproof and smudge-proof once the creamy formula has set (takes about 30 seconds), providing a good 10+ hours of wear. I grabbed one in Blackest Black and Forest Green Shimmer and the quality is consistent across both.
Another summer makeup essential for me are cream eyeshadow sticks – swipe, smudge, and you’re good to go. I grabbed Julep’s Eyeshadow 101 in the color Slate Shimmer. Similar to the When Pencil Met Gel eyeliners, their formula is waterproof and completely budgeproof once set, making it perfect for the pool and beach! The best part? Julep enhanced the formula with some skin-loving ingredients like vitamin E, C, and aloe leaf juice.

And last but not least, I grabbed a gorgeous holographic, slightly edgy shade of nail polish – Julep Ebony. It has a dark grey base with holographic micro-shimmer. The formula is the perfect consistency – it’s not too thin/streaky, nor too thick/goopy. It glides on super smooth and evenly, and builds to full coverage after two coats, as shown below.
So that was my Julep Maven Beauty Box for the month of June! I was once again amazed at all the products I was able to pick up for only ~$20 (I’m on their 3-month subscription plan), and the quality did not disappoint.
