New to my fall makeup favorites is a stunning deep red from the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range (and a unique shade created as part of her animal rights awareness campaign). One day of wearing this and all I could think to myself is ‘why did I wait so long to try out the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks!?’ Here’s why I’m hooked!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks
The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipsticks. There are 28+ shades available, all of which dry down to a perfectly matte finish. Their formula is creamy and pigmented, and infused with ingredients like vitamin E and sunflower seed to give it a more comfortable, slightly more hydrated feel than your typically matte lipsticks.
All of Kat’s Everlasting Liquid Liners are vegan and cruelty-free. Kat Von D is actually in the process of reformulating a few of her products so that her entire beauty line is vegan! She’s also helping to spread awareness for animal rights – one way is through her latest limited edition shade, ‘Project Chimps’.

The Kat Von D’s ‘Project Chimps’ joins together beauty and charity awareness. Not only is the shade a stunning orange-red for fall, it also helps support animal rescue – 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Project Chimps, a sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates chimps that are used in testing labs.
This limited edition Kat Von D Project Chimps Everlasting Liquid Lipstick first hit stores two months ago in August, and has since sold out everywhere I checked (including Sephora and Kat Von D’s website).
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Review
Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are everywhere – Instagram, blogs, Youtube – and finally I can see why. For one, the application is practically foolproof. Between the wand shape and medium consistency of the lipstick, it’s super easy to lay on an even, smooth coat. Speaking of which, one wand worth of product was enough to give me full coverage.
Once set, the formula feels amazingly soft, lightweight, and comfy feeling. It’s also very flexible and moves with the lips as you move/stretch them. On top of that, the extra hydration in the formula helps prevent cracking and exaggerated lips lines – a huge plus for my dry lips!
The Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks feature a surprisingly long-wearing formula. For me, the coverage lasted a solid 3 hours without budging one bit, even through drinking, snacking, and light rubbing. At 5-6 hours it began to show some signs of fading, mostly around the inner center of the lip, but it still looked decent. It wasn’t until I ate a rather messy meal (involving juicy turkey burgers) that a good 80% had disappeared. All-in-all, I found myself only needing to re-apply this once throughout the day.
The shade ‘Project Chimps’ I tried out is a perfect deep, warm red that’s slightly muted, making it perfect for Fall. (This shade, however, is already difficult to find, and will eventually sell out). If you’re looking for a dupe, the closest matte one – according to Temptalia – is the Nars Moon Matte Lipstick.) This shade may hold me over through Fall, but I’m already taking peeks at swatches of Kat Von D’s other Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks shades to see which one I might want to pick up next. Lolita? Lovesick? Susperia? It’s hard to decide!
Final Thoughts
If you’re a fan of matte lipsticks and want a long-wearing, ultra-comfy formula that feels good even on dry lips, the Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are absolutely worth checking out!
