Fall is here, and I don’t know about you, but for me that means lots of hot baths, curling up in bed early and getting lost in a good book, and upgrading my self-care routine to help combat those winter blues, and dry skin. When it comes to the latter, Love Goodly has got us covered with cold weather must-haves in their latest Essential Bi-Monthly subscription box for October & November.
Like their previous boxes, this one arrived with a curated selection of 4-5 beauty and lifestyle products, all eco-friendly, non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free. The items are typically very generously sized, and the total box value hits right around $80. The Essential box currently ships to the US for $34.95 bi-monthly, as well as Canada for $50.95 bi-monthly.
Love Goodly also donates a portion of each sale to support a worthy cause. This Love Goodly box supports Impact Fashion Show, one of the “leading sustainable fashion events in Los Angeles. Their vision is to bring together innovative companies and dedicated individuals to create a fashion industry that is safe for people, animals, and our planet.”
The October/November 2019 Love Goodly Essential box features five items plus a bonus sample, all themed around self-care and pampering for the change of season. Keep reading for the full rundown!
Love Goodly October/November 2019 Review
Lip Care
NIU Body Pina Colada Lip Polish (Deluxe size, value: $8) – This month, the Love Goodly Essential box packed three nourishing lip care products, starting with this exfoliating sugar lip scrub. I actually received this in a previous subscription box a while back (I believe it was through Petit Vour’s Beauty Box) and fell in love, so I was happy to get a second jar! It not only helps remove dead skin, but also leaves behind a light layer of moisturizing oils and butters, making it a great little multi-tasker. Plus it comes in the most delicious flavor that transports me straight to a tropical beach. 😉
Delia Organics Lip Nectar with Pumpkinseed Oil and Lavender (Full size, value: $19.99) – Next up for lip care is an all-natural lip oil blend that soothes, nourishes, and protects while also increasing collagen production for more youthful-looking lips. I’ve found it works amazingly well as an overnight treatment – these past couple of nights, I’ve been applying a generous layer just before bed and have been waking up to soft, smooth lips come morning. (I also love catching a whiff of the lavender essential oil as I drift off to sleep!)
Eco Lips Dee Free Lip Balm (Full size, value: $3.49) – Lastly, we have an everyday, purse essential – a good ol’ tube of lip balm. This one moisturizes with organic fair trade cocoa butter and coconut oil, and is beeswax-free (which I personally prefer, as I find it often promotes dryness). I also love the citrus-y Lemon Lime scent!
Skin Care
Bonus samples – Eco Lips recently expanded their product line to include all-natural facial oils, two of which we get to sample this month as a little extra bonus: the Ecolixir Daily Facial Oil (packing with Marula Oil and Pumpkin Seed Oil) and Cleansing Facial Oil (packed with Kakadu Plum Seed Oil and Daikon Radish Seed Oil). Both formulas feel (and smell) luxurious and leave my skin feeling supple and smooth. The Daily Facial Oil is my favorite of the two – it gives me a soft, dewy finish in the morning, and also works well as an intensive nighttime treatment when layered up.
Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue (Full size, value, $24.50) – Another everyday fall and winter essential. I love that this moisturizer is multi-use – it’s lightweight enough for the face, but also rich enough to smooth out rough, dry patches on the knees and elbows, and keep them smooth all day. I especially like the formula’s bright, citrus-y scent (from the lemongrass oil) – it makes for a great mood booster throughout the day!
Hair Care
Ettitude Hair Scrunchie Set (Full size, $15) – Finally, to prevent damage to our hair in the cooler, drier months, they’ve included a pair of vegan silk scrunches made of bamboo lycocell and bamboo charcoal fabrics. The scrunchies fit nice and snug and keep even high ponytails in place, and yet they also manage to feel super smooth and gentle on the hair. Each Love Goodly box came with a pack of two scrunchies – one small and one large. There were also two different color options – I got the grey ones, and am now eyeing the pastel pink ones – too cute!
