Luminess Air Mystic Airbrush Foundation
Luminess Air currently offers four different foundation finishes, including Silk, Ultra, Matte, and – my new favorite – Mystic. Mystic is different from the other three, as it consolidates four steps into one – your primer, corrector, concealer and foundation – making it a huge time saver. On top of that, Mystic provides an incredibly natural and dewy finish (a look that I personally love) while also helping to minimize oiliness – all while feeling silky smooth and weightless on the skin.

- Hydrolyzed silk & silk proteins – Provides hydration and helps prevent foundation from creasing or settling into fine lines
- Kaolin – A naturally occurring mineral used for hundreds of years for its oil absorbency and soothing properties
- Neem extract – Has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties that helps prevent acne

6-Step Minimal Makeup Routine
Products used:
- Luminess Air Mystic Foundation (shades 2 & 3)
- Luminess Air Blush in ‘Soft Rose’
- Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in ‘Dark Brunette’
- Luminess Air Mascara
- L’Oreal Infallible pencil eyeliner in ‘Black’
- Luminess Air Lip Gloss in ‘Inspiration‘
Step 1: Apply the Luminess Air Mystic Airbrush Foundation
The first step is to apply the Luminess Air Mystic foundation. I typically use 6-8 drops to cover my whole face. (My skintone is in the light-to-medium range, and for my perfect match, I mix together 3 drops of shade 2 with 3 drops of shade 3.)
Since this also works as a concealer, I’ll also apply the lighter of my two shades, just around the eyes.
Step 2: Apply Blush
The next step is to apply blush to add some color and depth to the cheeks. To keep the airbrushed look consistent, I’m using Luminess Air’s ‘Soft Rose‘ airbrush blush.
Step 3: Fill in the Brows
Next, fill in the brows using your favorite brow product.
Step 4 & 5: Apply Mascara & Liner
For the eyes, apply a black mascara. Here I’m using Luminess Air’s Waterproof Infinity Longwear Mascara, which builds volume at the very base of the lashes, while also keeping them separated for a naturally fanned-out look. It also curls my lashes and provides hold that lasts all day. I’ve also tight-lined my upper lash line using a black pencil eyeliner.
Step 6: Apply Lip Gloss
Finally, apply a lip tint or gloss. Here I’m using Luminess Air’s lip gloss in ‘Inspiration‘. It’s surprisingly hydrating, plus it smooths out my lip lines and doesn’t feel sticky. The finish is also gorgeous – it adds a touch of healthy shine to the lips along with an ethereal pink iridescence.
Then you’re done! The above steps take only about 5 minutes to apply (and around 7 minutes total when you factor in the setup and clean-up of the airbrush system).
Overall, Luminess Air’s Mystic Foundation does an amazing job at evening out my skintone, neutralizing and concealing redness, and even brightening the eye area. Just 6-8 drops gives me medium coverage that feels like I’m wearing nothing at all, and creates a barely-there, my-skin only-better look.
The foundation settles to a soft, silky-smooth finish, with a touch of all-over natural, glowing radiance – particularity on all of the top points of the face (cheeks, brow bone, etc). Although this type of finish can be a bit tricky for oily/combo skin, surprisingly the kaolin-enhanced formula actually helps to reduce my T-zone oiliness as the day goes on. This also helps to keep the foundation looking fresh for well past 8 hours.
