If by chance you were paying more attention to social media rather than football this past Sunday (guilty!), you may have caught a look at an exciting new release from LORAC. Following the unveiling of the trailer for the upcoming Pirates movie, they teased on both Twitter and Instagram their collaboration with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean Makeup Collection!
LORAC posted Sunday on Instagram: “We are thrilled to announce #LORAC will be heading to the high seas with @disneystudios. The trailer premiere has us feeling giddy already! So excited to see the collection at @ultabeauty and other fine retailers. There is much more coming soon…”
The image shows the packaging of one product in the collection, called ‘Treasure in the Stars’ (which appears to be an eye shadow palette). It has a top lid with decent depth (looks to be about 2 eyeshadow palettes deep). Also, if you look closely, you can see a pull tab and a little drawer on the right side. It sure looks like they packed a lot inside!

LORAC also hinted on both their Twitter and Instagram that that won’t be all. Hopefully, more sneak peeks are to come, but in the meantime, all we can do is speculate. To match the dark, ominous tones of the movie, I’d personally love to see a cool-toned contouring palette (with purples and greys), dark matte lipsticks, and of course some Jack Sparrow-inspired eyeliner pencils. Then again, the collection may be a bit more ‘saturated’, and take the ‘treasure-chest’-inspired route with deep rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and other jewel tones – we’ll have to wait and see!
And of course, the biggest question of them all: when is everything set to come out!? While they haven’t officially announced a release date yet, many people predict that it will coincide with the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Mean Tell No Tales, which hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
