As spotted on the runways for fall/winter 2016 and Pantone’s color of the year, pink and all of its flirty femininity has undoubtedly made its way into fashion and makeup looks this holiday season. But I’m not talking Barbie pink. This year, it’s taken the form of a slightly more sophisticated and softer (yet still flirty) rosy hue.
To further play up the feminine vibes this holiday season, I’ve been pairing a few rose-toned touches with complementing warm hues, flirty fragrances, and delicate accessories into my everyday looks, to create a softer, more romantic feel. Here are my current favorites!
Rosy, Metallic Eye Looks
Rosy metallic eyeshadows can easily add a softer, more romantic feel to any makeup look. What’s great about rose is that it is incredibly versatile – it works with both cooler and warmer shades so you can really play with them, customize your look, and pair them with almost any outfit. All it takes to create a simple rosy eye makeup look is a lighter shimmery rose and a deeper rose/brown/taupe shade.
My current go-to rose metallic shade is ‘Patina’ by dome Beauty. Here are a few of my favorite everyday combinations I’ve been wearing lately:
- Rose-brown combo: dome Beauty ‘Patina’ on inner 2/3 of lid, MAC Sable in outer lid, MAC Folie in crease and on lower lash line

Rosy Metallic Nail Polish
Metallic and shimmery nail polishes look especially amazing and glamorous around the holidays. As much as I love the look of icy silver shimmer, those understated rosy metallic shades are my absolute favorite (like this ‘Champagne’ shade from Nailtini). They work for everyday office wear, and also effortlessly transition to fit more glamorous occasions.
Ivory & Rose Accessories
For a touch of femininity, warm ivory and rose tones are some of the more unique touches that can be added to any outfit. Because rose gold is neutral toned, jewelry in this finish is incredibly easy to pair with outfits, plus they tend to stand out among the all to common silver and gold tones. My favorite is this delicate yet edgy rose gold necklace from Sophie Harper.
Ivory is another shade that equally stands out, as it contrasts with our darker fall/winter wardrobes. My favorite way to add a hint of ivory into an outfit is by throwing on a delicate, flowing scarf for a romantic, almost vintage look.
Warm & Sexy Scents
Winter is the perfect time to transition into those deeper, richer, and more mischievous scents. One scent that falls in these categories, while also capturing a flirty and even sexy vibe is Katy Perry’s Mad Love perfume.
