I recently picked up some very unique little makeup bits from Shiro Cosmetics, an indie brand that takes inspiration from gaming, fantasy series, and more. Their products range from earthy, deep shades found in their The Hobbit and Game of Thrones collection, to pastels and bright shades found in their The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing collections.
Shiro Cosmetics Harry Potter Makeup Collection: Marauders, Mugwumps, & Muggles
One collections in particular that captured my attention – not only for all the childhood memories it re-awakens, but also the sheer volume of products it contains – is Shiro Cosmetics’ Marauders, Mugwumps and Muggles Collection, inspired by Harry Potter. The 28-piece makeup collection includes 2 cheek products (one bronzer, one highlighter), 6 lip products, and a whooping 20 loose eyeshadows. The full-size versions of the powders all come in plastic jars, each with their own unique illustration on the lid related to the shade name. The full-size glosses are packaged in a doefoot tubes with a handwritten vintage-looking label.
Shiro Cosmetics released the Marauders, Mugwumps and Muggles Collection back in 2015 for Halloween and, from what I’ve heard, it has since become part of their permanent makeup line (yay!).
I was super excited to try out as many products from the collection as possible, so I ordered the Harry Potter sample set (more specifically, ‘The MM&M Collection + Chocolate Frogs: Sample Sizes’ found on Shiro’s website here). It includes almost everything in the collection – all the eyeshadows and cheek products (in little baggies), and 3 out of the 6 lip products (in clamshells). Let’s have a look at the swatches, starting with the eyeshadows.

Highlighter & Bronzer
White Chocolate Frog (top) – creamy ivory with a glowy sheen and light shimmer
Milk Chocolate Frog (bottom) – milk-chocolatey bronzer with a satiny sheen and a light amount of shimmer
Lip Glosses
Felix Felicis (top) – Sheer gold gloss with lots of sheer gold shimmer. Smells like a vanilla cupcake!
Amortentia (middle) – Semi-opaque magenta with rosy-pink sparkle. This one offers amazing pigmentation and even stains the lips a bit. Smells like pomegranate with a hint of rose.
Polyjuice (bottom) – Sheer green gloss that leans the lips toward a more brown shade. Smells just like honey mead with a touch of fresh pine.
A Quick Look
Here’s the first ‘experimental’ look I created using a few of the shades that stood out to me. I started by applying primer, then used Have a Biscuit Potter on the lid, After All This Time in the outer v and crease, and Not Yet So Damaged in the inner corners. I’m also wearing Felix Felicis (the gold gloss) on my lips.
After All This Time was a bit difficult to work with, especially when it came to blending (hence why it looks slightly patchy and uneven in the crease area). On the other hand, Have a Biscuit Potter and Not Yet So Damaged both applied beautifully!
Wrap-Up
Overall, I’m super impressed with my first order from Shiro Cosmetics and can’t wait to go back for more. The eyeshadows, with the exception of a few, were incredibly pigmented, silky smooth, and easy to work with. Out of all the products I tried from Harry Potter Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles Collection, I’m particularly loving the Polyjuice lip gloss (it’s surprisingly wearable and smells so yummy) and the White Chocolate Frog highlighter (the texture is amazingly silky and smooth). Eyeshadow favorites are:
- Too Old, Too Poor, Too Dangerous (a gorgeous grey-purple-taupe satin – perfect for everyday wear)
- You’re Just as Sane As I Am and The Well Organized Mind (two stunning, ultra-shimmery silver shades – they look even more gorgeous in person!)
- Have a Biscuit Potter (a super intense, ultra-shimmery green; also the one I’m wearing on the lid in the above look)
- Wizard Wheezes (winner of the ‘best name’ in my book – it made me laugh when I first swatched this playful little glitterbomb ‘explosion’ – simply adorable :P)
Have you tried makeup for Shiro Cosmetics? If so, do you have any favorites?
