My Latest Sigma Brush Haul
I’ve been reading (and watching) so many great reviews of the new Sigma Synthetic Kabuki and Precision brush line, so I decided I would pick up a few of the more “essential” ones.
- F84 – Angled Kabuki: Buff cream blush or bronzer onto the skin.
- P82 – Precision Round: Apply eye shadow base or primer onto the lid.
- P86 – Precision Tapered: Exact placement of concealer in harder to reach areas such as around the eyes and nose, chin, and around the mouth.
Along the Sigma websites says the P82 round brush is for applying eye products, and the P86 tapered one is for concealer. I tend to do the exact reverse with mine! I’m finding that the tapered brush works especially well when applying cream shadows, while the round brush is great for applying and blending out concealer.
According to Sigma, these brushes feature ‘exclusive Sigmax™ fibers, uniquely designed to apply powder, cream and liquid products without absorption into the bristles.’ This is one of the best things about these brushes – they don’t absorb much so you aren’t wasting your products, and that means less cleaning in-between uses! I personally go a whole week without cleaning my kabuki, “all-purpose” brush, and then do a deep clean with some ELF brush shampoo over the weekend.

Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki Brush Face Routine
The Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki brush has become my go-to brush in the mornings. I use it with my Make Up Forever HD foundation which I mix with the new Julep DD Creme (got this in the May or June box). I do this for two reasons – one, because I like less coverage from my foundations and the HD foundation is a bit on the heavy side, and two, because the Medium shade of the Julep DD creme is so much darker than my skin tone (around NC25-27) it works well to “darken up” my lighter foundations in the summer when I need some extra color.
I also use this baby for my concealer, and then finish with a creme blush! It does it all so beautifully – application and blending – and gets the job done in only a couple of minutes!
Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki Brush, Julep DD Creme in Medium, Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, Mac Select Cover Up, Color Touch Eye, Cheek and Lip Glow in Teen Tone
The last step in my face routine is to apply blush. I’ve acquired a few cream blushes here and there, but never really touched them because they were a pain to apply with my fingers and my Mac duo fibre brushes were far too small for my cheeks and weren’t dense enough for proper blending. The Sigma angled kabuki brush is really the PERFECT size and density for applying cream products.
Lately, I’ve been using the Color Touch Eye, Cheek and Lip Glow in the shade ‘Teen Tone’. I got it in one of my BeautyArmy subscription boxes and had it sitting around for the longest time until I decided to try it with the Sigma kabuki one morning. Since the application is so much easier with the E40, it is quickly becoming my favorite blush! It’s the most natural pink-peach color, and it lasts all day (on it’s own – even without adding powder). Gotta love discovering new favs from those beauty boxes!
