Spring 2017 BeautyCon Box
The Spring 2016 BeautyCon Box was curated by three Beautycon Box Ambassadors – LA Demi, Dacey Cash, Sayria Jade. They’ve pulled together 10 beauty products ranging from skincare, haircare, beauty tools, and a whole lot of makeup. Here’s the full rundown on all products, along with my initial impressions of each.
Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Palette (Value: $34) – Cargo is one of my favorite makeup brands. Every powder product I’ve tried from them so far (eyeshadows, foundations, etc) has impressed me pigmentation and formula-wise, and this palette is no exception. While the darker shades like Dublin and Toronto are a tad powdery, the light and medium tones are amazing – super smooth with amazing color payoff! I also love that it gives you the ability to go from light and subtle, to dark and smokey.
NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick (Rose Petal Pop) (Value: $8) – Stick products are my favorite for spring and summer – they’re 1) portable, and 2) super quick and easy to apply. This one from NYX is for sure going in my makeup bag – it’s pigmented yet blendable and easy to sheer out for a subtle flush. It makes for a 5-second, foolproof application, which I’m all about. (I’m already considering picking up the shade Lavender Lust too – they have ~10 different highlight shades to choose from.)
Dirty Little Secret Matte Liquid Lipstick (Rust) (Value: $14) – This my first time trying out a makeup from Dirty Little Secret Rust, and I gotta say, I’m impressed! I swatched this on my hand and it lasted through washing my hands, showering, and then some. On the lips, it leaves a lasting stain behind, long after the first layer has worn away. The color I received is ‘Rust’, a very deep, warm red, which I imagine would look amazing with tanned skin, while sitting pool-side drinking strawberry daiquiris…in a polka dot bathing suit…ok time to stop daydreaming!
The BrowGal Convertible Brow Palette & Brow Brush (Value: $25) – This palette was designed specifically for BeautyCon, and created to work for all hair types. The shades include a charcoal brown, warm medium brown, and a cool taupe, all of which can be mixed to create a custom shade. The powders can actually be used two ways – dry for powder, or wet for pomade. What impresses me most about these is their formula – they’re pigmented, silky-smooth, and even last through water exposure (perfect for pool and beach days!).
IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush (Peach Sheen) (Value: ~$8) – This shimmery peach-toned blush is talc and paraben free, and formulated with natural minerals. It contains Silica and Nylon, which gives it a velvety smooth, ultra-blendable texture. I love the shade Peach Sheen – it warms up the cheeks and adds a healthy sheen thanks to all the mica (but beware, it’s a bit intense and not the most office-friendly).
Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Duo Fibre Powder Blush Brush (Value: $22) – Super soft, amazing quality, and cruelty-free! The size is perfect for precise blush and highlight application, using both powders and creams.
OGX Orchid Protect Hair Oil (Value: $5.79) – This spray (as you can probably guess from the name), smells amazing. Not only does it add a lingering floral scent to the hair, it also protects color from UVA/UVB rays. I just recently colored my hair so I’m looking forward to using this – starting today!
NUXE Shimmering Dry Face/Body Oil (Value: $8) – This is a multi-tasking dry oil that you can use on your face, body, or even your hair! It’s packed with shimmer and moisturizing oils, and has an exotic scent that lingers for hours. I’m looking forward to using this on my shoulders and legs (once I build up a little bit of a tan), and also trying it out on my hair to see if it adds some extra sparkle! 😉
Garnier Micellar Water Cleansing Towelettes (Value: $5.99) – And last but not least, some easy-breezy skincare for those lazy spring/summer nights, camping trips, post-gym or exercising, or whenever you just want to refresh. These are the first micellar water cleansing clothes that I’ve ever come across, and I’m loving them – I feel like they give me a slightly better cleanse than others I’ve tried.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m LOVING the Spring 2017 Beautycon Box! It’s already getting me in the summer mood with the (fantastic smelling!) shimmery body oil, lazy-day skincare, and bright blushes. Stands out for me include the Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Palette (love the quality and versatility) and the NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick (love the speedy application and buildable color).
