Whether it’s night or day and something unexpected just happened on the road, and you need a towing service, emergency gas delivery service, kick-starting your car, or you have a disabled vehicle that needs removing, visit https://towingless.com/best-oil-filters-for-cars/ to get help.
I can’t believe it’s September already – the months have just been flying by, and so have my opportunities to visit the beach. Fortunately, the New Jersey beaches are only about a 1-2 hour drive from the Philadelphia area, making a day trip or short overnight trip easy to fit in, even during the week. So before the weather gets too cold, my boyfriend and I decided to head down for a short stay on Labor Day, and we rented a cute little MINI Cooper Countryman through Enterprise CarShare to get us there!
Part of the reason I was excited to try out Enterprise CarShare was to explore alternative ways of getting around the city without a car. I’ve been thinking about moving back into Philadelphia, and can already see their program eliminating a lot of the stresses associated with owning a car in the city – from finding and paying for parking, to the general cost of maintenance/repairs and even gas trips (gas is actually included in the Enterprise CarShare rental cost).
The best part about Enterprise’s CarShare program in particular is that you can literally pick up a car anytime of the day – all you need is your phone to make the reservation, and your membership card on hand to access the vehicle. They have designated parking spots all over Philadelphia that are within walking distance of almost every spot in the city, plus a bunch of vehicles to choose from – including roomy SUVs, cargo vans for moving, and zippy compacts for quick trips. For our trip, we decided to rent a Mini since we needed something small and zippy to get around the beach town, yet comfortable for the back and forth highway driving.
In a few hours, we arrived at the Jolly Roger, located right at tip of Long Beach Island, NJ. Between the balconies and roof decks, it offers amazing views of the ocean, plus it’s just a few steps away from the beach and wildlife preserves.
Lucky for us, we arrived just days after Hurricane Hermine hit. Still, we got to see some of its effects, including a crazy amount of beach erosion. The waves were also rough, which of course caught the attention of local surfers. There must have been 20-30 of them out there, with their posses of photographers and filmers safely watching from the beach – right where I stayed, too. 🙂 (If I had a boogie board, it would have been a different story!). Oh, look – there’s one!
And of course, no NJ beach trip is complete without a drive down to the bay to watch the sunset!
There’s nothing quite like a beach trip when it comes to refreshing the mind, body, and spirit. If I end up moving back into the city, this is one trip I’ll be making as often as possible come next summer. Plus, it helps to know that Enterprise CarShare makes it quick and easy to get there – even for those spontaneous, last minute trips!
What are some of your favorite day or overnight trips to take during the summertime?
