I finally got around to trying out Wet N Wild’s MegaLast Lip Colors earlier this year. Since then, I’ve grown my collection quite a bit (and at roughly $2 a pop, it wasn’t hard – for me, or my wallet!).
What’s to love about them? For one, the MegaLast lippies provide full coverage color with a semi-matte finish – in just one coat. They feel amazingly comfortable on the lips, plus they’re packed with moisturizing ingredients like coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A & E, which keep the lips smooth and the color even. They’re also formulated with hyaluronic microspheres, which help the color last for 4+ hours – impressive for such a budget-friendly lipstick!
Today I wanted to share swatches of the first 7 in my collection, most of which are on the lighter end of the shade spectrum. (Part 2, coming Friday, will include all the deeper shades you can check out here!)
Like all of Wet N Wild’s products these lippies are 100% cruelty-free. However, according to their Vegan product list, they’re not all are vegan. Those that are have been marked with an asterisk (*).
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Bare It All’ (902C) – This is a really pretty pinky-beige nude that goes with just about every type of look – simple, dramatic, cool-toned, and warm-toned. I also don’t find it to be too light for my light-medium skin, ~NC25 in MAC (which is often a struggle for me with these types of shades).
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Just Peachy’ (903C) – Just Peachy is a bright pinky coral. It’s a pretty summertime shade, if you can pull it off. Sadly on me, it’s a bit too bright, too warm, and too light, so I rarely find myself reaching for this one.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘In the Flesh’ (912C) – This is medium rose that’s quite muted and neutral toned, so it works well with almost any look. I often find myself grabbing it when I want a very natural and subtle, yet polished lip look.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Rosebud’ (904B)* – Rosebud is one of my favorites. It’s a medium, slightly warmed-up rose-pink with a little extra ‘pop’ that really enhances the lips. It also transitions amazingly well from day to night.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Wine Room’ (906D) – Wine Room is a deep rose-pink that’s perfect for creating a more classic evening look. It’s very similar to Rosebud, only a touch darker with more red tones than pink.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Smokin’ Hot Pink’ (905D) – This is another one of my personal favorites. It’s a vibrant, slightly warmed-up dark pink that’s really fun to wear for an evening out.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in ‘Mauve Outta Here’ (907C) – And finally, we have a cool medium purple. Now, purples are often tricky for me – they can easily make me look tired, washed out, and pale. Fortunately this one isn’t super cool or blue-toned. I find it actually complements my skin tone rather well and looks great paired with silvers and cool taupe shadows on the eyes.
