In my quest for safe, non-toxic mineral makeup, I stumbled upon Youngblood, a luxury mineral cosmetics line that formulates their products with only the ‘good-for-you’ ingredients. Their makeup is free of potential irritants (chemicals, dyes, and preservatives), synthetic ingredients (alcohol, artificial fragrance, mineral oil, talc and petroleum), and nanoparticles. And to top it off, they’re cruelty-free. Today, I’m going to review their Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks, including all three of their new shades for Spring!
Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks
The Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick Collection features 9 lip colors in total, including three new limited edition shades which were introduced for Spring 2016. These mineral lipsticks are ultra-pigmented, with excellent payoff and longevity. Enriched with emollients and Vitamin E, they glide on smoothly and evenly, and provide a gorgeous semi-matte finish. Shades range from nudes, pinks, plums, corals, and reds.
Key Ingredients:
- Safflower Seed Oil: This oil prevents moisture loss and works to shield skin’s barrier. Unlike most other matte lipsticks that can leave lips feeling dry, Safflower Seed Oil leaves lips with a healthy glow.
- Tocopherol: Beyond its effects as an antioxidant, vitamin E is also known to shield the skin from free radical damage.
- Honeysuckle Flower Extract: This extract is a good antioxidant that can shield the skin from environmental damage.
New Limited Edition Shades for Spring
Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics recently debuted three new shades for Spring as part of their Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick Collection: Flirt, Fever, and Sinful. Fever and Sinful are both reds, and Flirt is a coral shade.

Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick Review
Pigmentation – The Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks have impressive pigmentation – one swipe provides amazing color payoff and nearly opaque coverage. I love how buildable they are – you can brush them lightly across the lips for a natural pop of color, or 1-2 times with a heavier hand for full-on opaque coverage.
Formula – I LOVE the formula. For someone with dry lips, I find these to be the perfect match. They feel so silky smooth and lightweight on the lips, and they keep my lips moisturized for hours. No amount of stretching or excessive smiling disrupts the smooth finish of the lipstick.
Longevity – The Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks last a good 2-3 hours on me, and often times longer (if I’m not eating or drinking). The color wears off evenly and continues to provide a pretty pop of color even as it begins to fade (acting almost like a lip stain).
‘Sinful’ is a deep blue-red.
‘Fever’ is a yellow-based red, think tomato-red.
‘Flirt’ is a light, slightly muted orange-ish coral.
The Youngblood Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks are available on ybskin.com and retail for $19 each.
